This site is all about the joy of playing with color and making new discoveries about the way we see and the way we make. As an artist, playing is a critical element in the journey of creation. In the guise of play, we give ourselves permission to try things that may not work out in the end; that openness to failure leads to discovery of more effective ways of creating. Through play, we learn new techniques and new ways of seeing. We experiment with non-habitual combinations of materials and every act of making improves our skills and make us better at what we do. When we forget to play and experiment, we stop growing. The end of playing is death of discovery which, I believe, is the lifeblood of the creative mind.
How do you play? What discoveries have you made, through playing, that impacted your work? Feel free to comment below.
